On June 11,2009, Guruji had come to Mumbai at Yogi sabhagrah hall at Dadar. The place was limited for 1500 people, but atleast 5000 people were present there to meet Guruji. The hall was jam-packed and it was an amazing night that no one can forget.
Here is what happened:
While standing on the mat that was laid for Guruji, he was about to slip. I was checking which is more slippery, the mat or our mind. It is ok for the mind to be slippery, as long as our faith (vishwas) is not slippery. The whole life is a test of how much faith that we have towards the divine and others. We should never let our faith to slip like this.
What should I speak today?
(After a long pause) Do you all want to talk or we’ll sing bhajans? (Audience: Talk…. Talk ….)
You know, paagal and masti-khoors never talk. I can see little paagalpan little masti here, so why do you want to talk?
Achha tell me, what kind of followers are you? are you a monkey’s child or a cat’s child?
There is a difference. A monkey’s child sees his mother around and does its stuffs; and wherever the mother goes, the child follows. A cat’s child is the opposite. It does its stuffs and the mother cat keeps an eye on her children, if someone goes on a wrong path, she picks him/her and brings back to the right track.
So are you. Do you look for the divine and follow it or become miserable and wait for the divine to pick you up?
There are 2 stages to a sadhak. It is like you want to go somewhere by train and it’s very urgent. The first stage is intensity and struggling. You pick up your luggage and run on platforms, bridges, etc. and somehow catch the train. But once you get inside the train, is there any point running inside the train from one compartment to another in a hope to reach the destination faster? Once you get inside the train, you relax, let go. So is the second stage, you relax and meditate, do pranayams, etc. that really keep you calm.
(Then people wanted to give flowers and garlands and other gifts to Guruji and touch His feet)
Naughty people, do you really want to give me the flowers or touch my feet instead?
I can actually say no to bringing flowers and garlands but I do not say anything only to allow the flower-seller outside to earn some money on such occasions.
I don’t want this flower that you have brought. I want to see your happy face smiling and blossoming like flowers. That is a true offer to me. I have only happy flowers in my garden, I have selected them so. Call me maali or maalik, it’s all the same.
There are so many of you to touch my feet, but if I fall, there is nobody to support me. So you decide which side you want to stand.
My blessing is with all of you.
(Then people with cards want to give it to Guruji)
You don’t have to send letters; as soon as you write them, I get to know the contents immediately. Our minds and hearts are very strongly connected, that’s more important.
And… the day eventually came to an end. With so many people, it was all chaos while exiting. But it was amazing for all those who were in Guruji’s divine presence.
Loads of Love,
Ravi
